A. Russell Brown

Our owner and President is Russell Brown. Mr. Brown is a practicing attorney with over 23 years experience in real estate matters. He formed Benchmark Title Company in 1997, after seeing a need for a title company in the northern Middle Tennessee area. He demands a high level of commitment and quality from his employees, and takes pride in their dedication and loyalty. A community leader (past Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club President), he is active in his local church and enjoys time with his family. An avid outdoorsman, he pursues skiing, biking, backpacking and climbing.

Sherry Tucker

Sherry Tucker is the office manager for Benchmark Title Company. She has been with our company since February, 1999. Sherry is a life long resident of Macon County, and she knows just about everyone in this area. Sherry is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the company and makes sure that all our customers receive the best level of quality and service possible. Sherry knows real estate and what it takes to make our customers happy. If you have a real estate problem, she has a real estate solution! Sherry is an accomplished pianist and plays for a local gospel group. She also enjoys her family and local church.

Shirley Day

Shirley Day is the bookkeeper for Benchmark Title Company. She has been with the company since its formation in August, 1997. She is responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable and general day-to-day fiscal operations of the company. Shirley has also been a legal secretary for Russell Brown (the company’s owner) since 1988. Apart from work, Shirley keeps busy chasing six grandkids (all boys!) and going to car/truck shows with her husband.

Joyce Burford

Meet Joyce Burford. She is our “go-to” person when setting up orders, filing (and sometimes finding files) and processing. Joyce makes sure your work request is placed in the right hands for fast and efficient completion. Joyce has been a valued employee for over five years. She is active with her local church where she was secretary for 17 years prior to coming to Benchmark. She and her husband, Ancel, have been happily married for 49 years and enjoy their four grandchildren very much.

Julie Jones

Julie is one of our closers. She has a combined 18 years experience as a secretary in the legal profession and in the real estate title industry. She stays busy following her daughter, Bethanye, who is a high school cheerleader. She and her husband, Ronald, enjoy watching the UT Vols and the Titans play.

Stacey Frye

Stacey comes to Benchmark from the banking industry. She worked in that industry for 10 years rising to the level of head teller. Stacey is our most experienced closer, and this is her primary job description. Her motto is “Have notary will travel”. She handles most of our Sumner and Robertson County closings. Stacey is a new mom! Brody Austin Frye was born July 7, 2006. She and her husband, Charlie, stay busy with Brody and enjoy being with friends and family.

Chris Mahaney

Chris is our newest employee. Once trained, she will be both processor and closer. She and her husband, Teddy, have two sons, Kyle and Brandon. Brandon is Macon County High’s fastest runner on the cross country team. An accomplished runner in her own right, Chris recently placed first in her age division at the Makin’ Macon Fit 5k race.
